Ochazuke (Rice with hot green tea) - Japan

Ingredients


Half a fillet of salmon

1 cup cooked rice

1 tsp. shredded nori sheet (dried laver seaweed)

1/4 tsp. roasted white sesame seeds

A little wasabi (green horseradish paste)  *Optional

A little salt

1 green tea bag

 

Procedure


1.     Salt salmon and leave it for a while.

2.     Grill salmon.

3.     Remove skin and bones from salmon and flake the flesh.

4.     Scoop rice into a bowl.

5.     Put salmon, nori, sesame seeds and wasabi on the rice.

6.     Make a cup of green tea with hot water.

7.     Pour the tea into the rice bowl.
 
 
*Ochazuke is eaten at the end of dinner or as a light meal.
